Den Gai , read as Tián Kǎi in Chinese, a photographic artist currently based in Tokyo, Japan.
graduate of Kyoto University of Arts in the field of photography and Video. The works concern about the collective memory of land and people, and the relationship in family formation.
lecturer at Kuwasawa Design School, lecturer at Nippon Institute of Photography, and a special lecturer of Interior Design at Musashino Art University.
Through my photographic practice.I explores the resonances between the body and reality, allowing perception to drift between the visible and the invisible, the real and the fictional, the personal and the collective. My work investigates the potential of photography as a mechanism of resistance and meaning-making, reconstructing contemporary experience through the tension between the visual and the conceptual. Treating the image not merely as representation, but as a lived site where meaning emerges through the ongoing process of life. I enacts this belief by tracing how images and phenomena acquire meaning within individual lived experience. Also I maintains an independent artistic practice while also engaging in selected commercial projects.

1984年中国生まれ、2006年機械エンジニアの仕事で来日、、現在東京都在住。京都芸術大学写真映像領域修士課程を卒業。
地においての集団的記憶の構成を対象とし、写真を媒体て独自なまなざしで制作実践。
主な経歴は、2014年に清里フォトアートミュージアムが主催するヤングポートフォリオでピックアップされ、作品収蔵に至る。以降、作品制作に取り組みながら、フォトグラファーの仕事や、写真やデザイン関係の翻訳通訳も行う。2015年、広東省外事博物館図録制作した。2016～2017年、中国稀少方言収集プロジェクトに、フォトグラファーとして参加し、20冊の方言集を出版した。(アートディレクター Wang Xu) 2018年、故郷で撮影した作品で第19回写真「1_WALL」に受賞した後、日本写真芸術専門学校と桑沢デザイン研究所で非常勤講師、武蔵野美術大学インティリアデザインコースで特別講師として、写真教育に携わる。2021年、第13回世界ポスタートリエンナーレトヤマにポスター作品で参加した。同年、北海道東川町が主催する東川写真賞にて、海外作家賞の資料作りと受賞写真展の設営に助力。アートディレクターの浅葉克己とデザイナーのJianping Heのコラボレーション企画で、国内外作家80人で行われる絨毯デザイン展で、作家兼コーディネーターで参画した。本展は2023年4月に中国深圳で開幕した。2023年台湾作家楊哲一「山水 - あるいはフロンティアの消滅 -」展を企画した。
